INTRODUCTION This book’s chapters cover different aspects of teaching law using the clinical method. Clinical teaching is essential. This chapter will address the design of a simulation-based clinical course. These are quite different from designing a lecture course, which most law faculty are familiar with. This chapter will discuss course design within the context of Trial Advocacy. You can use the lessons learned from developing and implementing a Trial Advocacy curriculum to prepare other clinical and non-clinical courses. The same principle applies to teaching clinical courses: students are given examples that can be applied in other areas, creating a cycle of professional learning.
